Our Holiday of a Life-Time

I'm just back from the most incredible family holiday.

We stayed at the Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort.

I'd heard it was one of the best family resorts in the world and having now experienced it I would most definitely have to agree it is.

What's not love about a resort that keeps every member of the family happy?

Massages for Mum, world-class scuba diving for Dad and non-stop fun for kids at Bula Club all day long.

Our week was jam-packed full of snorkeling, kayaking, swimming, sight-seeing and eating (the food was absolutely superb).

Bub was completely spoilt too. Did I mention he had a personal Nanny on-call for 12 hours a day?!

I could rave all day about this resort. The staff were so friendly and genuinely want you to have the best holiday you've ever had (and we did).

As you can see from these pictures, the location in Savusavu Bay is just spectacular. Everywhere you look it's just like a scene from a postcard. The whole island is just gorgeous.

I hope we can return to this little piece of paradise...very, very soon.

It's an exciting new year so I thought we should definitely add some exciting new products to the store.

I'm so thrilled to have had the absolute pleasure of discovering the very talented and wildly imaginative artist, Simone Downey, and her cute children's illustrations. So first up for 2012, we are adding a dozen of her designs to our Quirky and Whimsical art print range.

I'm so enjoying these holidays. We're having a ball swimming in our new pool, playing Pictionary, grooving to Wii Dance, riding bikes, playing Leggo and getting creative on the Ipad (with our new fave app: Drawing Pad).

But most of all I'm enjoying a slower pace and spending time at home with my gorgeous family...

House Hunting

My husband and I moved to Brisbane almost 12 years ago now. My how time flies! A big hook for me in deciding to make the move was the prospect of owning a Queenslander. I fell in love with this style architecture at first sight and was thrilled when we bought our first home, a little 2 bedroom Queenslander, shortly after making the move. Fast forward 11 years, one renovation, and two children with one more on the way (yes, I am pregnant) it's time bid farewell to our adorable, much-loved home and move on to bigger and better things. Maybe to something like this?.....

We looked at this beauty last week. And I have to say, I've been drooling over it ever since....I love the wrap around verandahs and the beautiful French doors and white plantation shutters. The inside is every bit as perfect as the outside and the pool is magnificent too!

One of the not so great things about living in Queensland is the wild weather we have to endure from time to time. The January floods were the most surreal thing I've ever witnessed. Fortunately we managed to come through them relatively unscathed with just some damage to my hubby's office building in the CBD. A minor inconvenience compared with what so many have been through and are still going through.

Here's hoping the rest of 2011 will be less eventful...weather-wise, that is.

My poor little blog has been even more neglected than usual these past few months - life has been busy but I have to admit enjoyable. I had a fabulous family trip to Dubai in September and since returning it has been non-stop. Christmas orders have well and truly started streaming in - thank you to all those super-organised people who do their Christmas shopping nice and early! I did my last Mathilda's Market for the year on Saturday in Brisbane. I decided to go out in a big way with a large stall and although it was a big job getting everything ready and setting up it was well worth it in the end as it was the busiest market of the year. Thank you for everyone that came by and said hi and purchased from me. My gorgeous new products were a big hit so these will eventually make it online...stay tuned. I have to admit my wardrobe contains a lot of Witchery. I tend to shop there quite frequently (far too frequently actually). I was in my local store on the weekend and was hoping to check out the new kids' range but sadly there was nothing in store (I ended up buying a beautiful silk dress for myself so not a complete waste of time!). I had spotted this very smart blazer for Master 5 earlier online and was hoping to snare it for our upcoming trip to Dubai.

It would have looked perfect at the Burj Al Arab - the 7 star hotel we are going to for afternoon tea - which has a strictly "elegant" dress code.

Red and blue - a perfect combo for boys

I stumbled across this image in blog-land a little while ago and had to look twice as the big "A" canvas on the wall reminded me so much of the 'My Very Own Initial' design in our canvas art range. Our canvases are not so large but they are very, very similar. The colours are almost identical. Isn't weird how this happens sometimes? Here's our Gelati Art one below.

I designed this in 2007 and it is still one of our most popular designs for boys. Since then I've also added in the co-ordinating Play, Laugh, Dream canvas set in this colourway. And of course our fun Red Racer and Beep, Beep, Zoom collection also comes in these colours.

Stumbling across the top image reminded me what a great colour combination red and blue is for boys' bedrooms. It's one of those classic combinations that never goes out of style. I've noticed it's also becoming a very popular colour scheme for girls' rooms.

I love the cushions on this window seat and the stripey walls. What a fantastic kids' playroom.

I'm so looking forward to Summer and the warmer weather that I have already got my children their first new swimmers for the season (yes, we are only 7 days into Spring, I know). I've chosen beautiful pieces from my friend, Ali's new range - a Little Blossom full piece swimsuit with matching sunshirt (pictured above) for my daughter and the Rugger red and navy sunshirt with a navy trunk (pictured below) for my son. I'm loving the Euroleg trunk for my son - it so smart and much more practical for swimming than boardies.

My good friend, Sura, at Red Plum Linen has kindly given me a sneak preview of her stunning new bedding fabrics and I'm very excited to be able to share these images with you over the next few days.

On Wednesday night I had the absolute pleasure of attending the opening of Anna Spiro's new Black and Spiro shop and showroom in New Farm, Brisbane. Anna Spiro is an interior designer-extraordinaire and lover of all things colour (if you read the Peekaboo article I posted about a little while ago you may recall she did a stunning makeover in my home).

If you live in Brisbane or are in town visiting you simply must pop in to her new shop and soak up some of her unique style. I can honestly say I have never seen anything like it. It is truly amazing.

I'm drooling over quite a few of her new furniture pieces, including the white Stuart Membery Royal Palm chairs pictured above and the white round Tangier Table pictured below...

Sweetie Petites Sewing Kits new at Gelati Art

Aren't these softies simply adorable? My daughter and some of her friends spent a fun afternoon making these Sweetie Petite dolls at our place one school holdiays. My 7 year old sewing novices got a real kick out of making their very own doll to take home and tackled the activity with great gutso. I can highly recommend these gorogeous kits for a child's first sewing project. And why should girls have all the fun? Now there's even one for boys too...

I think cheeky-faced Freddie would have to be my favourite!

An elegant and charming room for a girl of any age

Wouldn't this lovely lilac coloured room be perfect for a girl of any age? It's a wonderful combination of vintage, girly charm with a few modern touches thrown in for good measure. My favourite part is the ruffle curtains on the big sash window. I think they are so beatifully romantic and combined with the wallpaper the room definitely has an air of elegant sophistication. What little girl, tween or teenager wouldn't love jumping into that sleigh bed every night to snuggle up with her mink blanket!

Recognise this handsome fella? It's my very own darling son, Alexander Xavier, and now famous cover boy for the fabulous Peekaboo magazine!

Don't you think he looks so happy and perfectly serene in this photo taken by the very talented Naomi Vasington of Naomi V Photography? It captures him to an absolute tee as that is exactly what he is....a little ray of sunshine in our lives. He's the most positively optimistic child who always looks on the bright side and is rarely anything but smiley, happy and keen to please. His teacher tells me he has a beautiful caring nature. What more could you ask for in a son? I feel so, so, blessed to have him.

Not Just for Kids

My all time favourite Sarah Jane print from our range is Little Artist.

I love it so much I have it framed and on display in the bookcase in our living room. I love it because it reminds me of my daughter who, like this little girl, loves to lie for hours on the floor drawing and writing little stories and notes to her friends.

Looks like I'm not the only grown up fan of Sarah Jane! Interior stylist, Alice Flynn has our This Much, Freedom, Make a Wish and Friends prints on display in her ultra-stylish home, which was featured in 'Shop til Your Drop' magazine earlier this year.

Don't you just love Alice's style? A mix of modern and vintage glam with lots of arty typography thrown in. What else would you expect from an expert in this area. Here is one of her famous and very cool designs.

After two and half years we have outgrown our current website and are in the process of making some much needed changes, mainly to accommodate all our fabulous new products. Including our new range of art prints. I thought I would show a sneak preview of one of our new 8 x 10 inch designs for boys, which we will be available for $20. It looks very stylish in a white frame...photos coming soon too.

I can't wait to show you all our new art prints for boys and girls rooms and our other lovely new things on our revamped website. Even this blog is having an overhaul. Exciting times.

I'm starting to lose count of how many Mathilda's Markets I've participated in but what I do know is that each one gets bigger and better than the last. The new venue at Brisbane Racing Club is so fantastic - its drawing massive crowds and the range of stalls is growing all the time.

I can't wait to showcase our new prints and posters this Saturday and as always we will have our market "specials" basket for bargain hunters.

I'm also looking forward to doing some shopping too. Last Mathilda's I bought this super cool "Spidey" tee from Electric Boy for my four year old nephew and this time I have to buy one for my son.

International Modelling Super Star

I just read an article about this little miss and how she earns a tidy $250,000 a year modelling. She's worth it I reckon. She's totally gorgeous. Almost as gorgeous as my two little models who sadly do it all for love.

It was taken recently by the very lovely and talented Naomi Vasington of Naomi V Photography who I had the pleasure of meeting with the also very lovely and talented Bianca Shugg, Editor of Peekaboo magazine. They came over to my place recently to do a photo shoot for the next issue of the magazine, which we are being featured in!! I'm so excited!! I simply can't wait for it to come out.

The kids and I had a wonderful day with Bianca and Naomi which is evident in the photos. Here are some of my favourites:

Work it baby!

As you can tell from this image Alex absolutely loves having his photo taken. At this point in the shoot he had completely lost all inhibitions and was cracking us all up with his posing.

Bella also enjoys having her photo taken and like her brother is becoming quite the pro. Here she is looking lovely in her bedroom.

The sunroom shot - loving my green and white painted floorboards!

As well as participating in this fabulous photo shoot I have been very busy finalising our first shipment to New Zealand - and quite a large one at that (it took my dear hubby and me 8 hours to pack it on the Anzac Day holiday. Thank you, John. You're the best!) I still can't believe Gelati Art is going international. I hope our friends across the Tasman will love the range. Certainly if interest is anything to go by it will be very successful.

Last month I had our busiest ever Mathilda's Market in Brisbane. It felt like a Christmas market there were so many people. I sold out of just about everything I took with me. Thank you to all my loyal customers for stopping by and hello to all my new customers.

And while on the subject of Mathilda's a huge apology to Sydney Mathilda's Market customers for our absence at Lane Cove two weeks ago. Unfortunately I fell ill the day I was supposed to fly out and was unable to make it down. We're hoping we'll be accepted for the next market which is on the 8 August so we can meet all the lovely Mathilda's followers in Sydney's North and Lower North Shore (my old stomping ground).

Finally, I've been working on some new products - some fresh new prints and posters - in between dispatching orders to shops in Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide and the Barossa and online customers Australia-wide.

So that's why my blog postings have been lacking of late. My apologies. It's been busy times.

Sorry I've been missing in action for quite some time. The past month has been so busy I haven't had a spare moment to visit here. I often get asked about our photography by people wanting to know who takes our beautiful photos for Gelati Art so I thought I would share with you the secret to our success...

The super talent behind these gorgeous photos is the lovely, lovely (and slightly crazy) Lanni at Katrina Christ Photography in Brisbane.

I first met Lanni a few years ago when she came to our home do some family portraits for us.

These are just a few of the shots she took. Aren't they fabulous? These photos and many more take pride of place on our walls at home, in my husband's office and at various members of our extended family's homes.

Lanni has a larger than life personality and a real knack with children, she's extremely talented at getting her little subjects to relax, be a little bit silly, and have loads of fun, and that's how she creates these sensational photos. I can't wait to get her back to do some more soon.

This February and March I am participating in four Mathilda's Markets: Brisbane (new venue at Eagle Farm), Canberra, Sydney (new venue in Paddington) and Melbourne. I really enjoy this event, especially getting to meet my customers, so please pop by my stand if you are planning a Mathilda's shopping trip. How cute are these bag tags? These are what I ordered from Fairydust for my little Preppy for his first year of school. Aren't they absolutely adorable? Fairydust belongs to a lovely, lovely customer of mine. As you can see she is super clever.

It's a Pirate's Life for Me!

Helllo! I'm finally back after a very, very jam-packed two months. I didn't plan to stay away for this long but I was completely overtaken with Christmas (and Christmas orders), holidays, family coming to stay, new year orders (January is the most popular time to decorate kids' rooom!) and lastly getting my two off to school. Rather a big deal in our household this year as the family baby started Prep. So far so good I'm pleased to report; although this morning he did ask me, "Why do I have to go to school every day?". With all this going on I've hardly had a moment to catch my breath let alone blog. It's good to be back, though, I've missed the world of blogging and I have lots of exciting things to share.

A-M's favourite nook this week features our Cute Pirate - I'm chuffed!

First up for 2010 I thought I would share with you an impressive boy's room that features none other than our Cute Pirate canvas print. I came across it this week on one of my all time favourite blogs, The House That A-M Built. A-M's house is simply to die-for (thousands of blog followers from all over the world drool over it, myself included) so you can imagine how thrilled I was to see my wall art take pride of place in her son's superb room.

And what a room! It so spacious, stylish and practical. It has everything a boy needs: a huge window for daydreaming, a big desk for drawing and homework, a giant armchair for reading, a massive wardrobe for storage and lots of mirrors for practising rock moves. I love the red, white, blue and navy (with a hint of green) colour scheme - so classic and timeless. And I love the subtle and tasteful pirate theme.Ticks all the boxes for me. I bet he loves it too!

I noticed my postings have been a bit neglectful of boys lately so I thought today I would share with you a recent article I wrote for the very stylish online magazine, Style Collective. This magazine is so clever at seeking out gorgeous children's brands and is well worth a look at leading up to Christmas.

My Favourite Boy’s Room

Decorating tips for your little man - Author Vanessa O'Sullivan (Gelati Art)

I’m thrilled to have been asked to write another children’s decorating piece for Junior Style. This time, I thought I would share with you my current favourite colour scheme for boy’s rooms - this gorgeous red, white and caramel bedding that Red Plum Linen released this year.

It’s a new look for boy’s rooms that I must confess I fell in love with immediately. It looks stunning on cots and in older boys’ rooms and is such a lovely alternative to red, white and navy. I absolutely love the spots and stripes pattern, the pom-poms on the personalised throw cushion and the ribbon banding on the doona. It just goes to show that boys can have lovely detail on their bedding too!

There are so many ways to complete this room… you could include chocolate coloured accents, red coloured accents or stick with the caramel and red colour scheme. You could do a fun animal safari on the walls or even a retro circus theme… A stylish option from Gelati Art is the Red Racer canvas and Beep, Beep, Zoom canvases; colour-wise, these co-ordinate perfectly with the bedding.

For a baby or toddler’s room you could consider the Cute Pirates set of three canvases or the singular Cute Pirate canvas. These are trimmed in a chocolate coloured outline so again they tie back perfectly…plus they are so friendly and sweet!

Vanessa’s Tips for Decorating Children’s Rooms (part II)

Children’s rooms should be unfussy yet cosy.
Children’s rooms should be filled with toys, books, décor and treasures that encourage fantasy, possibility and imagination.
Children’s rooms should be spaces where children can enjoy being carefree. Their room should be a fun place where they want to spend time.
Children’s rooms should have some music in them. Something as simple as a CD Player and your unwanted CD’s will do (my daughter loves going to sleep at night with my old Enya CD playing). Music can be fun, uplifting or calming and a way they can enjoy “alone” time in their room. Include some tranquil or classical music in their collection for times when they want (or need) to “chill”.
Children grow up quickly and their tastes change fast. You should therefore plan to refresh your child’s room about every two years.
Children’s rooms should include lots of storage space so that they are encouraged to keep their room tidy. If you provide plenty of places for them to store their treasures, you will encourage them to take care of their belongings. The playroom pictured below is a perfect example of how clever storage can facilitate an orderly room (and encourage reading – how great are those bookshelves and how inviting is that reading nook?!).

Involve your child in the decorating of their own space as much as you can so they feel comfortable and at home in their room. Strike a balance by giving them the freedom to add some creativity while ensuring their room is in keeping with rest of your home.
If possible, include a full length mirror in your child’s room – on the inside of a wardrobe door is a good place – to help your child to develop a sense of self.
If possible, include a lamp close to their bed to encourage night reading.

I'm back from a flying visit to Sydney where we sold our wares at the beautiful boutique market, Magnolia Square. The trip was a resounding success and I'd like to take this opportunity to say hello to all my new friends who I met there. Over the coming weeks I will do some postings on the lovely things I came across at Magnolia Square. There was so much gorgeous stuff. I think I spent most of my profits before I came home!

I was so excited to receive a beautiful package from the postman today I just had to share it with you.

Inside this beautiful package were two beautiful Audrey dresses I had ordered online from The Emperor's Laundry. I have long admired this dress and so with Christmas just around the corner I decided to buy it for my daugther. However, I couldn't decide between the green or the red - they are both so lovely - so I ended up buying both. I think I will keep one for my daughter and give the other one to her friend.

But which one should I keep?

Sorry our posts this month haven't been happening. I've been flat chat with orders and getting all our lovely things ready for Magnolia Square. I sold so much stock at Mathilda's Market it was crazy. So it's been heads down for the past little while to replenish stock levels. I can't wait to show our wares in Sydney - my home town. It will be lovely to catch up with all my family and I am very excited to be launching two gorgeous new product lines. This girl's bedroom really appeals to me. As soon as I saw it I fell in love with it. I wonder what lucky girl sleeps here? Is she very young or is she a tween? The room certainly suits a wide age range, which in my opinion, is very clever decorating.

I love the mix of traditional and modern styles. I also love the colour scheme - the vibrant pink and green accents are fun and cheery and they really "pop" against the white backdrop.

As soon as I saw this image I thought our Cherry Cupcake canvas print with satin ribbon trim and embroidered hundreds and thousands beading would look absolutely perfect in this room.

My Favourite Girl's Room!

Decorating tips for your little miss - Author Vanessa O'Sullivan (Gelati Art)

I’m thrilled to have been asked to write a piece for Junior Style about a few of my favourite décor items for children’s rooms along with some decorating ideas. I thought I would share with you my favourite room of the moment – my friend’s daughter’s new bedroom. My friend has recently finished building her dream home and I can honestly say it is every bit as stylish as she is. It’s a classic Queenslander with a modern aesthetic. She’s decked it out with everything new so her daughter - Lucky Miss 7 - is now sleeping in the most delicious bedroom a girl could wish for, a room that is brimming with personality and individuality – just like her!

What I love about Miss 7’s new room is that although it is fun and playful it also feels serene. This is due to the fact that the foundation of the room is white – it has white painted walls, white timber furniture and white plantation shutters on her beautiful bay window. White is a perfect base from which to start when decorating any child or baby’s room. It’s fresh, practical and most importantly versatile. With white as your base you can easily update your child’s room as your child grows and as their tastes change. As a colour trend, white is increasing in popularity and the experts say it will continue to be fashionable for a long time to come. Everything looks good against white and, in my opinion, you simply can’t have enough of it in a child’s room.

I absolutely I adore the bed linen my friend chose for her daughter (pictured above). It’s a new Neapolitan colour scheme that combines spots and stripes from Red Plum Linen. The chocolate, caramel and pink colour palette is such a nice change from the pink and green we have seen so much of for girls in recent times. The spots and stripes are such simple patterns but it’s this simplicity that gives them their timeless appeal. I especially love the retro feel of the dots and the gros grain chocolate ribbon trim on the doona cover – such lovely detail. And check out the tassels on the candy polka dot cushion – what little girl wouldn’t love that – so glamorous!

I love that the lamp shade is in a different fabric to the bed linen and incorporates a new pattern – florals. It works with the colours on the bed but it doesn’t match exactly. I’m not a big fan of having everything fully co-ordinated and themed in a child’s room. I think it can look a bit contrived and overdone. Instead, I much prefer a room that is layered with different patterns and with a personality all of its own.

As a finishing touch to an already stunning room I’m going to give Miss 7 some artwork for her walls. We’ve selected a large statement piece to go above her bed (Gelati Art Cute Winking Girl canvas print with ric-rac trim), which co-ordinates with the overall colour scheme in the room.
Artwork is a perfect way to add a personal and fun touch to a child’s room and these days we are so lucky to have so much choice in this area.

I’m also going to give Lucky Miss 7 a co-ordinating set of Gelati Art Play, Laugh, Dream canvases to inspire her to live life to the full! I hope she likes them and I can’t wait to see them hanging up in her room. By using white as a base and combining it with a pretty colour palette my friend has created a room that is a perfect balance of playfulness and serenity for her daughter.

Vanessa’s Tips for Decorating Children’s Rooms

1.Use white as your starting point – walls and furniture painted white are practical, versatile, fresh and serene.

2.Develop a colour palette from a significant source in the room – generally your child’s bed linen.

3.Choose simple patterns for bed linen and accessories such as spots, stripes and florals as they never go out of style.

4.Don’t be afraid to mix and match patterns – mixing, matching and layering will give the room personality.

5.Don’t over-theme or over coordinate a child’s room. You and your child will tire of it quickly.

6.Use artwork to personalise and add fun to a room.

7.To achieve a perfect balance of playfulness and serenity in a child’s room use white as your base and a combine it with splashes of colour on the bed, walls and floor.

When it comes to boys' bedrooms you can't beat a classic navy and white theme. I'm totally in love with this bedroom. I just love the simplicity of it, which I believe is important in decorating children's rooms. I imagine it would inspire a boy's adventurous spirit...it's certainly got me dreaming of far off places.

Anyone that knows me, knows that I love white timber furniture in children's rooms and this room definitely ticks that box. I also love natural rugs - especially for boys. Tick again. I don't know if I would be brave enough to wallpaper but I think it certainly gives this room its personality. It adds a sophisticated and slightly nautical touch to the room, don't you think?

When my little boy gets too old for spots (which I also adore) I think I will do his room just like this. It's definitely a room that I would never tire of. Until then, perhaps I will try it in our guest room or perhaps even in my own room...

A customer recently contacted me to see if we would customise our Red Racer design for her daughter, Arianna. Of course we were only too happy to oblige. She wanted the racer to be pink and personalised with her daughter's name on the numberplate. My customer had owned a Mini Cooper prior to having Arianna but sadly had to sell it for a larger car to accommodate her growing family. We hope her new Gelati Art canvas print will be a lovely reminder of her beloved car.

Well school holidays are drawing to an end and what a jam-packed couple of weeks it's been what with a heap of orders to send out, play dates galore, a trip to the theatre, swimming at the beach, and even a spot of whale watching! You couldn't really ask for a better holiday!

I'm loving this blue and caramel look right now for children's rooms. My friend recently built a new home and this is the bed linen she chose for her two boys who share a room. Don't you think it looks fresh and relaxed? I absolutely love it teamed with white timber furniture and white walls.

The best thing about this blue and caramel colour scheme is that it's so adaptable. It works for babies, young children, older children and boys and girls. It's perfect for sister-brother share rooms and for coastal homes....this is my pick of the week!

A few years ago we built a cubby in our backyard for Isabella and Alex. Before we started I spent quite a bit of time researching design ideas and I was amazed to discover that there are some really OTT cubbies around. Not to be outdone, I designed a high-set Queenslander style cubby with its own wrap-around deck, slippery slide and gorgeous love-heart shutter windows - perfect for playing "cafes". I must find photo of it to post...In the meantime I thought I would share with you a picture of the most dreamy cubby house I have ever seen. Oh to be the girl that owns this....don't you just love the bird cage hanging from the ceiling and the "Giggle" word decor? Simply divine.

A Sense of Occasion

When it comes to celebrating special occasions the Royals certainly seem to have this down pat. I recently had the pleasure of attending the Christening of my nephews' Hugo (my brother and his wife's son) and Christian (my sister and her husband's son) - a double cousin Christening or a "Monster Christening" as my brother described it. It was a joyous family day that saw three large families come together from far and near.

My nephews were decked out in splendid Christening outfits, not dissimilar to those pictured above - Christening outfits that my Mum had purchased 25 years ago when we were only children in readiness for this very day. We thought she was off her head at the time. I distinctly remember us saying to her, "How do you know we will even have kids" and her replying, "You will". Now, all these years later we are grateful for her wacky ways - having these special garments for our babies to wear on their special day certainly helped create a sense of occasion. Thanks Mum! x

I shudder to think at how much I spend on magazines every year. It's a guilty pleasure that I just can't get enough of. It seems that the more I buy the more I want. I love all types: fashion, gossip, parenting and kids' and above all else, home and interior ones. When I go on holidays I binge out completely and my poor husband and children barely get a look in.

Now there's a new breed of magazine - the online one - more pleasure, but guilt-free as it doesn't cost a cent. At the top of the pile, in my opinion, is LMNOP - a magazine that showcases imaginative brands and products for children sourced from all over the world. I've been receiving the most wonderful compliments about the new photos on our website. I've got to say, I'm thrilled to bits with how they turned out. And what a fun day it was doing this photo shoot. My little models, Bella, Ruby, Maddie, Alex, Jamieson and Asher were unbelievable. The girls especially had a ball as you can see from the photos. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank my superb models for being so absolutely gorgeous!

I'm tickled pink today for Gelati Art to be included in the very first issue of Shop Girl - a gorgeous new magazine especially for 7-12 year olds. Our little L.O.V.E. Letters were featured on page 122. How great is that?! I can thoroughly recommend this magazine to anyone who has a tweenie. Lots of great fashion and gift ideas. Too bad this mag wasn't around when I was a tween...I would have loved it!

Spring is in the Air!

Today is the first day of Spring - a perfect day to start my blog. I've been wanting to create one for ages so here it finally is! I thought we would share with you my favourite Gelati Art item for Spring. It's a hand-painted Rosy Heart giclee print with a pretty red and white gingham ribbon trim.

Florals are always a beautiful theme for girls' rooms and we think this print really suits any age group. I've teamed it with a lovely bedroom setting from Red Plum Linen. Don't you think the red is a striking look for a girl's room? And such a nice change too. I love it.
